Resources for Advisors and Supervisors
A number of resources have been created to help advisors and supervisors of peer leader groups.
What is PLAN?
Want to get a weekly update of what is going on with peer leader initiatives across campus? Sign up for the PLAN listserv. Please email Kimberly Dressler at firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, peer leader group, and USC e-mail to be added.
Each semester PLAN publishes a calendar for advisors and supervisors of upcoming peer leader activities. Recruitment timelines, application deadlines, training schedules, events that are open to all students are included. The hope is that advisors and supervisors can plan events together and work to not have conflicting schedules as much as possible. If you have a date to add, please let OSE know!
A great tool for recruiting advisors and supervisors is JobMate. Advisors and supervisors can post peer leadership opportunities online at JobMate. Employers should include a position description, appropriate contact information, and application details. Students should be directed to apply for positions directly to the hiring office rather than through JobMate. Advisors and supervisors with questions about this system should contact the Career Center.
Over the years, training modules have been created to further the discussion of peer leadership on campus. Each module was designed to address the various areas of peer leadership at the University. The following six modules, created by Lauren Bosselait, Amy Spurlock, and Adrienne Strain, are available to view below.
