Student Success Center: Peer Callers


The Student Success Call Center is an initiative that provides outreach to various student populations. Peer Callers manage incoming calls and emails regarding academic success and. These student leaders are responsible for connecting students to appropriate academic resources, making appointments with Student Success Center services, and assessing the call data that they collect.

Recruitment date:

Recruitment will take place during Fall and Spring semesters. Contingent upon office needs there are opportunities for hiring throughout the semester. Refer to http://www.sa.sc.edu/ssc/peerleadership/ for timeline and application.


University of South Carolina undergraduate student maintaining at least a 2.75 USC GPA. Must have an awareness of campus resources, sharp critical thinking skills, value student confidentiality and provide exceptional customer service. This position requires adaptability to new technology and ability to navigate Microsoft Office programs. Prior phone experience is preferred, but not required.

Class requirement:



Student callers are required to attend all training sessions at the beginning of each semester. Callers must also attend bi-weekly staff meetings.

Meeting time:

Varies by semester.

Time commitment:

10-12 hours/week
