Orientation Team Leaders

Description:

Orientation Leaders are an essential part of the orientation experience at the University of South Carolina. Each year, between 36 and 42 exceptional students are selected to help guide incoming first-year and transfer students, as well as their parents through the Orientation process and introduce them to the vast resources available at University of South Carolina.

Recruitment:

September and October

Qualifications:

Good academic standing (and conduct) with their college/major; be full-time undergraduate student during the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 school years; 1 year commitment

Class Requirements:

Must be a current student returning for the Fall 2016 semester.

Training:

1.5 hours a week during the Spring 2015 semester, plus 10 days of intensive training in June.

Meetings:

Tuesdays 4:20-6:00pm during the Spring 2015 semester.

Time Commitment:

Full time summer (June-July), plus certain days in August, October, November, and January.

Pay:

Students receive a stipend of approximately $3000. Additionally, Orientation Leaders receive free on-campus housing and meals for the duration of intensive training and Summer Orientation.
