Homecoming Commission


The Homecoming Commission offers students the opportunity to contribute their individual talents to a team that organizes the University of South Carolina Homecoming week. Students that participate on the Homecoming Commission will gain time management skills, learn program planning and execution, communicate within small and large groups, help with marketing and publicity, learn to maintain a budget and help recruit volunteers.

Recruitment date:

Recruitment occurs in November or January. Recruitment depends largely on when Homecoming week falls for that academic year.


In order to qualify, you must be enrolled at the University of South Carolina as a full time student (12 credit hours) and be in good academic standing with your current college and free from judicial probation. You all must be available to commit to weekly meets as an executive board and individual one on one meetings.

Class requirement:



Students will be asked to attend the Homecoming retreat, annual Student Leadership and Diversity Conference, as well as Russell House leader trainings.

Meeting time:

Weekly, typically on Tuesday evenings.

Time Commitment:

Weekly meetings. One on one meetings. Volunteering through the week of Homecoming.
