Community Service Ambassadors

Description:
The Service Ambassadors Program is an internship program supported by the university which mobilizes students to serve at same nonprofit weekly for six hours. Ambassadors have been selected based on their passion for social justice and interest in service and will be sponsored by the university to work on social issues in the community.

Recruitment date:

Qualifications:
Must be a full-time student enrolled at the University of South Carolina – Columbia. Maintain a 2.50 cumulative GPA and be in good academic standing with their respective college.

Class requirement:
Have completed at least 2 semesters at USC Columbia.

Training:
AAmbassadors go through one training session at the start of the Fall semester, after they are placed with their respective nonprofit agencies. Additional training may be provided by their respective agencies.
Meeting time:
Ambassadors meet twice a month as a group to discuss various social justice topics. In addition, they have one-on-ones twice a month with an LSC staff member to talk about their progress in the program.

Time commitment:
6 hours a week working with their respective agency, in addition to the bimonthly meetings and bimonthly one-on-ones with an LSC staff member.
