Athletic Tutor and Mentor
The Tutor Program provides subject-specific assistance to student-athletes as a supplement to the classroom learning experience. The primary responsibility of a tutor is to understand and clearly communicate course content and study skills to the tutees.
The Academic Mentor Program offers academic support to student-athletes as they learn to function effectively in the college environment. The primary responsibility of a mentor is to provide one-on-one guidance on study and organizational skills, time management, and goal setting.
Year-round via recommendations, JobMate and e-mail
Sophomore standing; 3.2 GPA; evidence of academic success
A 2-hour orientation upon employment; approximately 10 additional hours of training, dispersed throughout the academic year
Tutoring takes place at the Dodie Anderson Academic Enrichment Center
No time constraints for tutors; academic mentor position, 4-8 hours/week
