The Office of Student Engagement is always happy to welcome graduate students or undergraduate students who want to learn more about how students are engaged on the USC campus. We offer the following opportunities:

    • Graduate Assistant positions
    • OSE hires graduate students in the Higher Education and Student Affairs program each year through the Graduate Assistant Recruitment Process (GARP) that is held each February. The positions are paid positions and run the course of the academic year and are designed to complement what students are learning in the HESA classes. Please see the Career Center or the HESA program for more information about GARP.

    • Internships
    • OSE offers two paid summer internships for graduate students who are currently enrolled in Higher Education/ Student Affairs graduate programs. These positions run May-August and focus on various projects related to the Sophomore Initiative, Peer Leadership, Domestic Study Away and Service Learning.

Due to the amount of projects and space available in the office, we are limited to the number of practicum I or II students we can have at once. Please contact Kimberly Dressler, Coordinator for Student Engagement to discuss potential practicum plans.

    • Volunteers
    • If a graduate student would like to learn more about OSE, but do not have availability for a summer internship or course practicum, OSE is happy to work with them to arrange volunteer opportunities within the office to work on specific projects.

    • Undergraduate Student Assistants
    • Each year OSE hires one undergraduate student to help with marketing and graphic design throughout the summer and academic year. Please see the job description here

For information on any of these positions, please contact Kimberly Dressler, kdressler@sc.edu
