Join the Student Engagement Team
The Office of Student Engagement welcomes graduate and undergraduate students who want to learn more about how students are engaged on the USC campus. We offer the following opportunities:
OSE hires graduate students each year to help support programs and initiatives run through the office. Currently, OSE is hiring for TWO GA positions for the 2013-14 academic year. One of the current opening focuses on academic service-learning and the description can be found here the other focuses on assessment and student engagement planning and can be found here.
OSE offers two paid summer internships for graduate students who are currently enrolled in Higher Education/ Student Affairs graduate programs. Interns do not have to be strictly from the USC HESA program. These positions run May-August and focus on various projects related to the Sophomore Initiative, Peer Leadership, Domestic Study Away, and Service-Learning.
- Late November: position descriptions posted
- January 25, 2013: Applications Due
- February 4-6, 2013: Interviews
- February 15-18, 2013: Intern offers made
- May 15: Interns start
- Applicants must complete an application and submit a résumé through the web site.
OSE is happy to work with graduate students on creating hands-on learning experiences that count as a part of a practicum course. Due to the amount of projects and space available in the office, we are limited to the number of practicum I or II students we can have at once. Practicum students do not have to be strictly from the USC HESA program. Please contact Kimberly Dressler, Coordinator for Student Engagement, to discuss potential practicum plans.
If a graduate student would like to learn more about OSE, but does not have availability for a summer internship or course practicum, OSE is happy to work with them to arrange volunteer opportunities within the office to work on specific projects.
Each year OSE hires one undergraduate student to help with marketing and graphic design throughout the summer and academic year.
For information on any of these positions, please contact the Kimberly Dressler, Coordinator for Student Engagement, at email@example.com.
