Join the Student Engagement Team
The Office of Student Engagement welcomes graduate and undergraduate students who want to learn more about how students are engaged on the USC campus. We offer the following opportunities:
OSE hires graduate students in the Higher Education and Student Affairs (HESA) program each year through the Graduate Assistant Recruitment Process (GARP) that is held each February. The positions are paid positions, run the course of the academic year, and are designed to complement what students are learning in HESA classes. Please see the Career Center or the HESA program for more information about GARP.
OSE offers two paid summer internships for graduate students who are currently enrolled in Higher Education/ Student Affairs graduate programs. Interns do not have to be strictly from the USC HESA program. OSE is happy to work with graduate students on creating hands-on learning experiences that count as a part of a practicum course. Due to the amount of projects and space available in the office, we are limited to the number of practicum I or II students we can have at once. Practicum students do not have to be strictly from the USC HESA program. Please contact Kimberly Dressler, Coordinator for Student Engagement, to discuss potential practicum plans.
If a graduate student would like to learn more about OSE, but does not have availability for a summer internship or course practicum, OSE is happy to work with them to arrange volunteer opportunities within the office to work on specific projects.
Each year OSE hires one undergraduate student to help with marketing and graphic design throughout the summer and academic year.
For information on any of these positions, please contact the Kimberly Dressler, Coordinator for Student Engagement, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
OSE also hires undergraduate students for the academic year to assist with event planning and other projects.
