Meet the University Housing Staff - Technology Services
Randy was born and raised outside Utica, a small city in Upstate New York. After receiving an associate's degree in Broadcasting from Herkimer County Community College, Randy obtained a Bachelor of Media Arts from the University of South Carolina. Upon graduation, Randy worked for ACS Sound and Lighting in West Columbia doing productions for various events in the Southeast. He then took a logistics specialist position at Ikon Office Solutions where he got his first taste of the Internet. From there he began to pursue website design and development. He then took his experience in broadcasting and the web to WACH FOX 57, the Columbia FOX affiliate. At WACH, he launched the first WACH.com, edited movies and was a member of the news team's production staff. With the growing need for virtual services, Randy became University Housing's first Web Manager in 2004 and then transitioned into the Interactive Media Manager in charge of all audio, video and interactive media production in 2012. |
Sheree is a 2003 graduate of USC with a BS in Computer Information Systems and a 2011 graduate of Waldon University with a Masters in Instructional Design and Technology. She came to the University of South Carolina in 2006 where she worked under University Technology Services for three years at the UTS Service Desk. Sheree joined our Housing IT staff in 2009 where she is responsible for helping with various software applications and IT training for our Housing staff. |
Terrie has over 20 years experience in IT project management, software implementation and end-user education and support. She has 13 years experience in systems management and administration. Terrie came to the University of South Carolina in 1995 as an IT Project Manager, charged with purchasing and implementing a Facilities Management software application. She was later promoted to IT Manager for the department. In 2002, Terrie left the University to accept a position as a software consultant to higher education institutions and state government agencies in the U.S. and Canada. Terrie returned to the University in 2005 to accept a position as Information Resources Manager for Facilities Planning and Construction and in February of 2008 joined the Housing staff as the Associate Director for Information Technology for Student Development and University Housing. In her current position, Terrie is responsible for managing and supporting the information technology needs of Housing and several Student Development offices. In addition, she is responsible for supporting three student computer labs in residence halls. Terrie is a computer geek who spends her free time camping, hiking, sewing and enjoying time with her grandchildren. |
Mitch, a Columbia, South Carolina native comes to University Housing from a local orthopedic hospital. As an Information Services Specialist, Mitch was in charge of all hospital information technology. This included a 21 enterprise server system, a medical transcription system and providing desktop support for the hospital's 100+ employees. As Network Manager for University Housing Mitch is responsible for the operation and maintenance of over 200 desktop computers, servers and network printers used by Housing and Student Development staff. In his spare time Mitch enjoys playing the drums in his band, watching classic 80's and horror movies and collecting old religious books. |
