Resume Tips
Some Assumptions and Tips about your resume
There are two slightly different approaches to resumes: Past-oriented and Future-oriented.
Past-oriented resumes will include the positions you have held, and their respective responsibilities. It is basically a summary of your past experiences, and may include the skills that you have gained from these experiences.
Future-oriented resumes are geared toward the position that you are trying to attain. You may frontload your resume with relevant experiences, rather than order them chronologically. It focuses on the desired skills for your future position, and highlights how you have already worked to gain some of those skills.
There is not really an obvious difference in the appearance of these two types of resumes, but rather is more of a mind set that you have while you are writing your resume. It is reflected in how you word various elements of your resume and eventually in how you present yourself in an interview.
Many candidates can explain what they have done, but struggle to discuss what they learned from doing it, and struggle more to discuss how they would apply what they learned to their next position.
