Recognition Checklist
□ Know all the names of your staff members (professional staff, Resident Mentors, Desk Assistants, Hall Government, etc.).
□ Set clear goals and set clear standards for you staff at the beginning of the year, and revisit them periodically throughout the year.
□ Get to know your staff/residents. Know some likes and dislikes, and what type of recognition best motivates them (Is it as simple as a thank you? Is it as involved as a public award?)
□ Individually recognize (#)______ resident(s) a month for something special they did.
□ Purchase simple note cards and keep them in your office.
□ Give handwritten notes to (#) ____ people thanking them for something that they did, or as simple encouragement for an upcoming stressor.
