Leadership

Residence Hall Association (RHA)
We represent and look out for the interests of residential students at the University of South Carolina. Our organization serves as both a governing body and a student organization.

As a government, we are governed by a Senate, which is comprised of two Senators and one executive officer from each recognized hall or community on campus as well as one representative from each of our affiliates. Additionally, we have a body of Executive Officers who carry out and assist with the initiatives of the Senate. As a governing body, we look to represent our constituency by addressing all issues pertinent to the experience of living on campus and bring such issues to the proper administrative authorities for review and possible change.

In our role as a student organization, we seek to provide improvements to the on-campus living experience. This is done through a variety of services including programs (both large scale and small), community service activities, and the management of our on-campus television station, WRHA.

Our primary purpose is to represent our constituents. We are essentially a student government exclusive to on-campus residents of the University of South Carolina. However, we're not to be confused with the University of South Carolina's Student Government! While we work extensively with and many of our members are involved in Student Government, we are a separate entity.

Our funding is derived primarily from Housing Activity Fees and thus all of our spending is done with the collective interests of residents in mind. Furthermore, all residents of the University of South Carolina are members of RHA.

Hall Government
Hall Government will give you the opportunity to get involved in the government of your hall. As a member of your hall government, you can help plan both educational and social programs for your hall. You can also gain great experience working with budgets. This is your chance to make a change in the events that are planned in your hall while at the same time getting to interact with the people who live in your hall. Talk with your SSM to find ways to get involved on your floor or in your area.

National Residence Hall Honorary
NRHH represents the top 1% of students living on campus. NRHH provides recognition through membership to outstanding leaders living in the residence halls. The goal of NRHH is to create a higher standard of excellence in the residence halls, by recognizing the outstanding work done within the residence halls and on campus through awards called Of The Months (OTM’s). This is your opportunity to recognize the amazing things that are done within University Housing.
Interested? Apply to become a member of NRHH or write an OTM (Of the Month) nomination.
