Academic Excellence Reception

Held in a distinguished campus location each spring, University Housing’s Academic Excellence Reception honors all residential students who have a 3.75 or higher cumulative GPA. The evening consists of a keynote address, door prizes, hors d’oeuvres, and information tables hosted by various campus offices with special opportunities available for academically high-achieving students. Over 1,600 residential students were eligible for this honor in 2008

Suggested Attire for the Reception
Because this reception is a special occasion and will be attended by several prominent people from the University of South Carolina, student invitees should wear dressy clothes (nice trousers or skirt, sweater or shirt). No jeans or flipflops, please.

Additional Information
The Academic Excellence Reception is a special honor for outstanding students at the University of South Carolina. Because almost 1,600 students were invited to the reception, students will not be receiving individual awards. We appreciate your understanding.
