Cancellations and Refunds (Summer 2013)

  • This contract applies to the Summer 2013 session (May  12, 2013-August 13, 2013). Room charges must be paid in full or financial aid packages must reflect the full amount.

  • Residents will be charged a monthly rate of $480 (i.e. June 1 – 30). Additional days will be charged the daily rate of $16 per day. Residents will receive billing notices under their apartment door, as well as via email with instructions on how and where to pay.

  • If your account is not paid when due, it may be forwarded to an outside collection agency. At that time, the student will be responsible for paying all of the costs associated with the collection of your delinquent account.

  • During the summer session, we do not require an advance room payment from current residents. Be advised that any damages incurred, either in the building or in your individual room, while residing in the residence hall will be charged to your account.

  • Cancellations, prior to the move-in date, can be submitted by sending an email to to the attention of Eddie Thomson or by calling University Housing at 803-777-4283. Once a student moves in no cancellations will be permitted for the month.  Students with extenuating circumstances should meet with Eddie Thomson prior to moving out of the residence hall.

  • Students who withdraw from the university after official check-in/beginning of classes may receive a percentage of their prepaid rent for future months as a refund. However, students will be assessed a $100 standard cancellation fee. Students dismissed from the residence hall due to student conduct violations will receive no refund for rent.

  • All students must abide by the procedures and expectations in the Student Code of Conduct and the Carolina Community Student Handbook and Policy Guide. These documents can be found online at
