Two Great Ways to Experience Orientation
Two-Day Orientation
Experience a new tradition in the making this summer with two-day Orientation. These sessions provide new Gamecocks and parents with special programs designed around making Carolina home, including what to expect as a parent once the student leaves home. Simply by signing up for two-day Orientation incoming freshmen will be registered to stay in Patterson Hall and gain a first-hand look at University Housing. Parents are also encouraged to take advantage of this unique opportunity to experience on-campus living.

One-Day Orientation
While your official Orientation activities are confined to one day, University Housing invites you to relax and explore campus by staying in the sleek accommodations of Patterson Hall. Located in the middle of campus, Patterson Hall provides spacious lounges with flat screen televisions, suite-style living arrangements that are perfect for meeting other new Gamecocks, as well as unique program experiences focused at transitioning to college life.
Stay With Us
Accommodations in Patterson Hall start as low as $40 per person, per night. Parent and student rates are based on double occupancy. The student experience begins with a shared room with another new Gamecock (same gender). Parent and student accommodations are separated by floor. For special accommodation requests or for an ADA accessible room, contact the Capstone Conference Center at 803-777-6636 prior to your arrival.
Guest Accommodations
Accommodations provide both students and their parents the ability to experience University of South Carolina suite-style living. Guest rooms feature complete linen service*, wireless internet access via AT&T (charges per services apply) and semi-private connecting bathrooms.
*Complete linen service includes bed linens, pillow, blanket, towel, washcloth and toiletries.
Parking
Patterson Hall is located at 1520 Devine Street. A temporary loading and unloading zone is located on Bull Street in front of Patterson Hall for your convenience during check-in and check-out. For more information on parking visit our website www.housing.sc.edu/conferences.html.
Reservations
Start planning your orientation itinerary today by reserving your accommodations with University Housing. Student and parent reservations are accepted online at https://my.sc.edu on your Summer Orientation registration form. Reservations are suggested as space is limited and reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.
Check-In/Check-Out
Preferred check-in for Two-Day Orientation is between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. and preferred check-in for One-Day Orientation is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. daily in the lobby of Patterson Hall. For special check-in arrangements, contact the Capstone Conference Center at 803-777-6636 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Check-out for all guests is between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. on the day of your departure. Complimentary luggage storage is available in Patterson Hall during Orientation sessions.
