Housing Contract Cancellations and Refunds

Students and their parents or guardians are urged to carefully read the cancellation terms and conditions of the housing contract. This contract is an agreement between the University and the individual student. For specific cancellation terms, please select the academic year and your student type below:

Fall 2013/Spring 2014

  • Current Students
  • New Incoming Freshmen
  • Note: All first-year students at the University of South Carolina are expected to reside in residence halls throughout the duration of their contract they will sign this summer for both fall and spring semesters. This means that students will be responsible for the full cost of their University Housing (residence hall) contracts for the fall and spring semesters. No exceptions will be made for students who wish to move from a residence hall to the Greek Village or off campus.
The University is committed to first-year students remaining in the living and learning communities during their first full year. All extenuating circumstances will be considered through an appeal process in University Housing.
We are asking Fraternity/Sorority House Corporations and chapters to plan accordingly and not count on new members to move into the facilities in spring 2014. In the same regard, we are asking students who sign a contract to live in the Greek facility for fall 2013 and spring 2014 to adhere to their contract as well.
