Prior to the advising period each semester, the University of South Carolina academic advisors from various departments hold informal pre-advising meetings in residence halls to answer students' questions about registering for classes, changing majors, and course requirements. Pre-Advising is a great time for you to get answers to the questions you have (but might not know who to ask)!
Generally Pre-Advising sessions are held in the following residence halls:
- Bates House (near the Bates Carolina Diner)
- Capstone (near Gibbes Court)
- Patterson (near the Patio Café)
Remember, you must first be advised before you can register for classes. Get in touch with your department for more information or view the List of University of South Carolina Colleges and Departments to find out who you need to contact.
New! General academic advising questions answered year-round!
